This is a contracted driving service. We do not carry passengers ourselves, and we charge by the hour, never by distance or by trip. We direct and supervise our drivers.

Rates exclude consumption tax. Fuel, tolls and parking are charged at cost.
Late night, early morning, long days and multi-day bookings are quoted individually.
What we need from you
- A vehicle owned or used by your company or by you (white-plate company, leased or private car)
- Motor insurance that covers any driver, including age conditions
- Fuel, tolls and parking paid at cost

Class 2 licence
Every driver holds the Japanese licence required to carry paying passengers.
Our employees
Not freelancers or contractors. We employ and train them.
Multilingual
English as standard, with drivers who also speak Chinese or European languages.

Photos and social media posts are not allowed.
Who trains our drivers
Fulvio
Every driver completes VVIP Service Certificate training before their first assignment. The course is led by Fulvio, who has chauffeured VIP clients and hosted overseas delegations in Tokyo in five languages.
We offer the same course to the drivers of hire and taxi operators.

Questions
Is this a staffing agency?
No. We take on the driving work and we direct and supervise our drivers. It is not worker dispatch. Please send itinerary changes through our dispatcher.
Is it legal for your driver to drive our white-plate car?
Under guidance from Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, driving someone else's vehicle at the owner's request and being paid for the driving is not paid passenger transport (Hokkaido District Transport Bureau, guideline on transport not requiring a permit, 7 August 2024). This is the only way we work.
What happens in an accident?
Your vehicle's motor insurance applies. Our liability insurance: details to be published. Please make sure your policy covers any driver before booking.
How far ahead should we book?
Standard bookings close at 5 pm the day before. Same-day requests are handled as short notice, subject to availability. For several days or several cars, contact us a week ahead.
Can you provide the car too?
We do not supply vehicles. For a car and driver together, book Driven Tokyo (driventokyo.com), operated by a licensed hire operator.
Which languages do you cover?
English as standard. Some drivers also speak Chinese, Italian, French or Spanish. Ask us about availability by language.
How do we pay?
Companies pay by monthly invoice. First-time and private clients pay by card in advance.
